Happy Birthday Emily!
We had church this evening, so she was able to spend part of her birthday with Kacie, one of her favorite people.

Today began the long process of orthodontia for the kids. Just a consultation today -- but it looks like braces for Noah and Kat once all their permanent teeth are in. And he hasn't even checked out Emily, our thumbsucker.

I love that we have such great friends at church and that the kids are so comfortable with them. Eli had himself a nice nap with Angie in the nursery today.

Kat and the other Juniors from her Girl Scout troop went skating as part of the requirements for the Winter Sports badge.

This was our first night back to Kung Fu. Nunchuck night. It doesn't get better than that.

With the exception of a quick trip to the drive through-pharmacy, I hadn't left the house in over a week. Stupid whooping cough. I finally broke out and went out with Angie. Thanks Angie!

For no good reason, we cracked open a bottle of champagne tonight. I wanted to get a picture for Lara. The addition of the sword was all Brian.

Brian called asking for a picture of Gabby, which he needed for his staff retreat. The bourbon bottle was also his idea.

Eli absolutely loves Kat. He sometimes even cries when she hands him off to me. She is so great with him and such a big help to me.

Doug and Rachael sent their god-children a board game. Noah and Kat played too.

While Brian was away, Eli kept me company at night. Although, to be honest, Eli sleeps in our bed just about every night. We really need to change this, but it's not going to be easy.

We had to break our whooping cough quarantine for a quick trip to Walmart.

I need to fess up -- I forgot to take any pictures today. So I'm stealing one of Brian's. He added this as his facebook profile picture today, in preparation for his trip to New Orleans tomorrow.

I spent the morning on the still snowy campus of WKU proctoring an exam. It was a great chance to relax and read for a few hours.

I left this one smaller because it is not for faint of heart. Noah's cough is so bad, he broke a blood vessel.

2010-01-07

Today we had what we now consider a major snowstorm. This would have barely been worth noticing in NH, but here it meant school closures and meetings cancelled. The kids had a great time with what little there was -- Eli loved his first chance to crawl around in snow.

Today was BRHSA Enrichment Day. This month, instead of breaking into classes by age, they chose from a variety of classes to learn new skills. Emily chose cake decorating, Kat used a sewing machine to make a pillow case and Noah took an art class.

Em's had her glasses for almost a year now.
She's supposed to wear the patch every day, but she really doesn't like to.

Like father, like son. Although Brian assures me that it was empty.

2010-01-02

Eli is a great kid -- super cute and very funny. But he's a lot of work and is very attached to me. He was perfectly happy to play with his sisters, until I walked into the room. Once he spotted me, all that would make him happy to have me pick him up.

We started off the new year with a vist from Mom and Dad (aka Bammy and Bampa) and some Legos from Uncle Joel.
